The Global Forum welcomes the participation of our Peace Scholars from our academic partners and delegations. Our six sister colleges founded by Norwegian-American immigrants sponsor this annual summer Peace Scholars Program in Norway, designed to deepen students’ understanding of the central issues and theories regarding conflict, war and peace.
Through a rigorous application and interview process, students from Augsburg College, Augustana University (Sioux Falls), Concordia (Moorhead), Luther College, Pacific Lutheran University, and St. Olaf College are selected as Peace Scholars and awarded a seven-week academic experience in Norway. The program expanded in 2017 to include students from California State University, Sacramento and the University of Hawaii, Manoa.
Funding for this Peace Scholars program is provided by each college and through the generous support of Ms. Liv Dahl and the Smaby Family Foundation.
